We seek to continue developing sensing technology to place in the environment to measure change in the environment. The change can be man-made or natural. The sensor networks can measure chemicals, take physical measurements and sense biology from the small microbes to large animals. One area of interest is to further our wireless camera network technology so the public can see real time images from beneath many parts of the ocean floor across the globe.
The ways we design, build, consume and recycle materials in the environment is key to supporting a sustainable world. Without out monitoring in the environment, how well we are doing in reducing our impact remains a mystery. Our work is to create environmental stewardship through technology. Without the knowledge of what is happening in the ecosystem, the changes in our behavior can’t be effectively measured.
Our goal is to create the tools for everyone to measure change. Our vision is scientists and environmentalist would use tools so we can all speak from the common language of numbers and not opinions.
It can accurately be said that just as comedy, drama, literature, politics and social movements have affected the fabric of reality and affected our human condition, so too has sci/tech affected our interaction with space and time and our interaction with each other. We have made our science and technology and in turn they have made us.
My prediction is that over time science will continue to overtake religion as the way of viewing and connecting with our world and our role in the evolution of the universe.
Sciflies is a small effort towards the transformation by melting people to science and science to people. A hopeful result is that both will come to revere our role in changing our ...

Hands down, my children. The fact that four times I have helped create such beautiful lives still leaves me in awe. Nothing professionally and personally I have done can compare with creating and nurturing these four beings.
In some ways I might say I have great works in developmental biology.
Freedom, period. The freedom from conditioning, from authority, from restrictions that would limit the imagination and the incredible force the human mind has.
