Passion/Philosophy

Freedom, period. The freedom from conditioning, from authority, from restrictions that would limit the imagination and the incredible force the human mind has.

Fraser, it’s a survey of man’s views of time as expressed by the sciences and the humanities. It was written in 1966, it is incredible still in its relevance. You know, hard to be believed by the young but there was knowledge before the internet.

Embedding Sensor Networks in the Environment

Why? The ways we design, build, consume and recycle materials in the environment is key to supporting a sustainable world. Without out monitoring in the environment, how well we are doing in reducing our impact remains a mystery. Our work is to create environmental stewardship through technology. Without the knowledge of what is happening in the ecosystem, the changes in our behavior can’t be effec ...

Ultimate Goal We seek to continue developing sensing technology to place in the environment to measure change in the environment. The change can be man-made or natural. The sensor networks can measure chemicals, take physical measurements and sense biology from the small microbes to large animals. One area of interest is to further our robotic sampler technology deployments in the field to help measure the inc ...
