Our research will quantify the estrogen concentrations in Tampa Bay in order to help determine the effect on the reproductive cycles of fish and other marine life.

Water Powered Milldams on Geo-Bio Systems of North Carolina Piedmont StreamsMany piedmont streams suffer from poor water quality, a substantial portion likely coming from the erosion of sediment stored behind centuries old mill dams. Determining the true nature of all pollution sources impacting the streams will better inform prevention and policy decisions that will keep today's streams clear of yesterday's pollutants.

| Testing Waters for Chemical Build-up Using Robotic SensorsKey reports have shown rising levels of pharmaceutical chemicals in our ecosystem. Studying the effects of these chemicals on smaller life forms now can help stem the rise before it becomes a serious problem for humans. We will place a network of robotic sensors in Tampa Bay that will collect continuous samples over a six month period, providing a reliable and accurate analysis of chemical build up in the water.
