| The Fate and Consequences of Estrogen Discharged Into Tampa Bay Current waste-water treatment facilities aren't built to remove certain pharmaceutical pollutants like estrogen, which can have a significant negative impact on the marine environment. Our research will quantify the estrogen concentrations in Tampa Bay in order to help determine the effect on the reproductive cycles of fish and other marine life.

Water Powered Milldams on Geo-Bio Systems of North Carolina Piedmont StreamsMany piedmont streams suffer from poor water quality, a substantial portion likely coming from the erosion of sediment stored behind centuries old mill dams. Determining the true nature of all pollution sources impacting the streams will better inform prevention and policy decisions that will keep today's streams clear of yesterday's pollutants.
